To quote our town planner, architect Lloyd Vogt, “As social beings, our internal compasses seek the centers of human communities. Historically, these centers were most often manifest in social, communal spaces utilizing the magic of a fountain as a centering device. The element of water has always played an important role in human settlements. Its importance as an element essential to life is obvious, but history demonstrates the human search to go beyond its utilitarian aspect and celebrate its emotional gifts. Guided by the wisdom of thousands of years of history, the use of a fountain as the psychological center of Carillon was a logical choice.” If you watch people as they sit around the fountain area, you will see the joy that this precious element of life imparts.
